Sound Glass- Striver's Award

Sound Glass receives Glass Magazine's 2002 Striver's Award

Size isn't everything. It's only one way that a company can be measured. More important is the kind of good work performed day in and day out that gives a company a good reputation, that engenders repeat business, and that gives the sense of a job well done to its employees.

That's why this year's Striver's Award goes to Sound Glass Sales, Inc., of Tacoma WA. This company, which specializes in low-rise curtainwall storefronts, and shopping malls, actually finished in spot 51 among the entries in contract glazing sales. The companies sales was over $9 million, which would have easily garnered it a spot on the list.

According to Gvido Bars, vice president, the business philosophy at his company is, "To do the best job for our customers, the first time, to get repeat customers. We're in for the long haul, and we want happy customers,"he explains.

What is the secret to the company's consistently successful performance? "Customer service and communication- with employees and customers" he states unhesitatingly. "Make sure everyone is on the same page. It's a cliche', but it's true,"he adds.

And he's right. Cliche' yes, but truth too. It's also one of those important factors in success.
